IMPORTANT NEWS

NCJCL needs your help. For Spring Convention we are in need of Contest Chairs for both Latin Sight Reading and for Arts and Crafts. Mrs. McCartney will be happy to work with anyone who wants to do arts and crafts and her students will be your helpers. For Latin Sight Reading, we just don't have a chair, but Shara Packman can get you going on it if you like.

Additionally, and this is really important, all five State Chair positions need to be filled for next school year. We need a Spring Convention Chair, a Nationals Chair, a Treasurer/Membership Chair, a Certamen Chair and a Fall Forum Chair. If you are interested in filling a position, or want to nominate someone who you think is, there will be a general sponsors meeting at Spring Convention for all available sponsors to come and ask questions of EB members. After convention we will do a general election via email for interested candidates. It cannot be stressed enough how important it is that NC have State Chairs on the Executive Board. If you have ever considered it, now is the time to step up and serve your state and classics community.

If you want to volunteer to be a contest chair, email Shara Packman at sharapackman@earthlink.net. If you want to volunteer or nominate someone for state chair, email Sherri Madden, the current Interim Membership/Finance Chair at smadden@carolina.rr.com. Thanks a lot!

EXECUTIVE BOARD

On behalf of the NCJCL, it is a magnificent pleasure to welcome all new members to the Executive Board, just as it is certainly an unfortunate loss to see our departing members go! Amist these torn feelings, we all strive to represent the members and sponsors of NCJCL so as to make North Carolina the best state JCL in the nation!
